You wouldn't think you could fly to Vegas in a day, shop, have lunch and gamble and be in bed by 10:30 that same evening, but you can. And my mom and I proved that on Wednesday. We flew out at 8:00 am. We actually had another agenda flying there besides just a load of fun. The summer before my senior year of high school I was an exchange student for Tempe Sister Cities. I was chosen to go to New Zealand for 6 weeks. I stayed with a family there and my "host" mother was flying into the states for her vacation. We knew we couldn't let her come so close and not see her. I haven't seen her in about 10 years. So we flew up, had lunch, shopped a lot and gamble even more. We didn't win the jackpot but we won enough to keep us playing for the day. I did have a huge loss of money when I ordered a drink not realizing the price until she rang up the price. $42.00!!!! I'm not a big drinker so that was pretty much a waste of money, since I couldn't really even make a dent in it. We did win that money back but of course put it back in the machines later that day. I had a great time with my mom and hope we can do it again really soon. And hopefully it won't be another 10 years before we see Trish from New Zealand again. Thanks so much Trish for meeting my mom and I- we had a great time with you!
