Last night Mike and I had a date night. We've done really good trying to do the date night thing once a month. I think it's really good for a marriage to get away from the kids, even for one night and go be a couple. Rekindle the romance, get a chance to talk without getting up to get someone a snack or talk without the noise of Spongebob Squarepants in the background. It's been one of my 101 goals for Mike and I to do this date night thing and all year we have only missed 1 month. We are doing pretty good!
Last night we went to a movie to see Fireproof. Most of you probably haven't heard of it because I hadn't either until a few people told me we had to see it. It's an awesome movie and gives a great message for married adults. It's not something to take your kids to but something I think every married couple should watch. It gives you a different way of looking at marriage and reminds you how important marriage really is. In this fast busy world with all our stresses, appointments, and things to do we sometimes forget to focus on the marriage and when you start a family, unfortunately the marriage gets put to the back. We don't mean to do it but the kids are always going to be first and then we start letting everything else in front as well. If you aren't careful you could turn into roommates. You need to get together and remember why you fell in love in the first place, remember how you want to grow old with your spouse and remember to love unconditionally.-always!
It was a great film and I encourage any married couples to make a date night and go see it!
Reagan took a picture of us last night- she's finally at the stage where I trust her to hold the camera- of course we are close by and the strap is around her neck. Poor little muscles could hardly hold up the camera so we had to come down to her level! :)
