I almost forgot the Friday Funny today!!!

Operation: Love ReUnited for the Hendriksen Family

Thursday, May 28, 2009

I have this obsession lately with Paradise Bakery. I'm constantly thinking about when I can take the kids there again for lunch. All because of a little piece of heaven I call the CHICKEN WALNUT SANDWICH- yes it deserves all caps. Michael thinks no way in the world does chicken and walnuts go together but oh yes they do sir. It's just one of those foods that leaves a wonderful smile on your face and happy thoughts all day long. Oh did I mention that they make it fat free and calorie free just for me? Isn't that nice of them?
Reagan doesn't like it either, I think because she has this thing about nuts- I don't think she likes biting down on crunchy things. Boy are those two missing out!

I took the kids there today of course and Reagan thought she'd try the Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich instead of her usual Mac and Cheese. A couple of bites in I notice she is studying the sandwich and not eating.

Me: "Reagan eat your sandwich - What's wrong?"
Reagan: "My peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes like it has peanuts in it."
Me:____________ speechless- I don't even know what to say to that. Poor little girl, maybe she'll learn more about that in Kindergarten. Apparently she has never had "crunchy" peanut butter. :)

On another note, last week I met up with the Hendriksen Family. Adam was stationed over seas for a year and had just come back a week before our session. Brittney set up her family session for a nice welcome home for Adam. I always love doing these sessions and always feel so blessed when I can help out with some family pictures for a wonderful brave family. Whether they are just leaving or just returning, I know that everyone is with me when I say we are so proud of all military personal and want to thank them for all they do. Their bravery, their strength and their love to keep their families together is a wonderful thing that only a few certain men and women have.
Thanks again Adam and thank you Brittney for scheduling your appointment. Bless you all in getting back to the normalcy with all your family experiences.

Our Class of 2009 Graduate!!!

Monday, May 25, 2009

On Friday, Reagan graduated from Preschool and in just about 9 short weeks, she will start Kindergarten. I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that just yet, but I know she is. I think I'll probably stand with all the other moms and force a smile when we drop them off and cry all the way home. Luckily I still have a few weeks to prepare for that big day.
On the last day of school, they wrote in their journal one last time- check out Reagan's adorable drawing with the cap and gown. :)

All the kids each took turns and stood up to tell us what they wanted to be when they grew up- Reagan wants to be a veterinarian.

I really am so proud of her- it's just another wonderful milestone in her life that as parents we will remember always and smile about!
Good luck with your future Reagan. We hope you are successful in anything you do and happy!! :)
We love you so much

Friday Funny!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

This brought tears to my eyes- I just love this woman and I think Ellen is hilar! It's nice when you've been in front of the computer all day and you find a nice laugh like this- it just keeps you going.

It's a little long but so worth-if you have a few minutes to watch, please do, you'll be happy! I know as moms when we get 9 1/2 minutes to ourselves we'd rather do something else but you'll be happy you watched it.

Thank goodness today is Friday- I hope you enjoy my Friday laugh for you!!! And I hope to have a funny every Friday to celebrate getting through another week- :)

The Beltran Family

/>

Meet Jodi, Omar and little Nicholas! Isn't he a cutie. Nicholas just turned 2 a few months ago and loves Cars! He reminds me a lot of Hunter.
He loved that we were going to go to the train tracks and maybe see a train. That was all he talked about on the session. It was really cute. So their slideshow song is just perfect for their family- I love it!

The weather cooled down a bit for their session which made it a little more bearable. Who in the world ok'd it to be 107 in May. Arizonans are ready for the heat but not until June. Oh this stinks.

Preferred Portrait Club

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I know the economy stinks, we all know it. We are using coupons, not eating out as much, trying to save gas. We surely aren't going on vacations like we used to and not everyone has extra cash laying around to purchase family photos. I get it, and no one is willing to try and save money more than I do. I am a Coupon Nazi at the grocery store. I should really see a therapist about it.

So I've been thinking of this little plan for awhile. Why should our family memories be neglected because of a stupid economy? We still need memories to look at years down the road- right? I wanted to create a way for families, brides, moms to be, grooms, dads, children, and grandparents to still have sweet memories of life, but at a price they could afford- FREE!!! Who doesn't want free photos?

And it's easy. you just need to open your mouth. I started the Preferred Portrait Club with Mandy Hank Photography. Why not have all your friends and family pay for your photos?

Here are the details!!!

*For every client you refer that books a portrait session with us you will receive a $50.00 credit

*If you refer a client that books a wedding with us you’ll receive a $250.00 credit!!!!!

*These credits can be applied to sessions, albums, CD’s. slideshows, wedding packages, anything Mandy Hank Photography offers!
And now for the stinkn' rules :(
The Rules:
*The credits start as of April 1st, 2009 (yes I’ve been keeping track)
*The credits don’t expire (you’ll want to use them anyway, right?)
*They can’t be transferred- (if you did all the work, you should get the credit J)
*If the client cancels for any reason without rescheduling, the credit is deleted and you will be given a $15.00 credit for the referral.
*You can use the credits at anytime or save them all up for something big!!!
Doesn't sound too bad right? Even the rules are simple! So get out there and spread the word of Mandy Hank Photography so we can set up YOUR family session for FREE!!!!!
And because I hate to post without a picture, here's my little man, Hunter!!!!

Trent and Aaron- Seniors

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

Trent and Aaron's mom called me up to schedule their senior sessions. She had twins and I was really excited, being it was my first twins senior shoot. I didn't know what they looked like and when I got there I was worried I wouldn't know which was which. But as you can see with these two young men, they don't look anything a like and once you spend a little time with them, they are different in personalities as well.
They both play baseball for Hamilton High School so I wanted to incorporate that for them. They are right in the middle of playoffs- so send good wishes their way!
These boys are really sweet and were not shy in front of the camera. My camera loves models like that!! :)

Thanks Karen, Trent and Aaron for a great session! Congratulations on graduating and good luck next year!!
