2nd shootin' at DC with the OG

Sunday, May 04, 2008

Saturday I helped my good friend Jennifer with Ograce Photography at DC Ranch. This was a really big wedding and she needed some extra help. This wedding was absolutely beautiful. It was all a mixture of creams, tans, golds and whites. The details in this wedding were amazing! The church was all candle-lit with ivory candles. Beautiful was an understatement.

The bridal party were gorgeous and that always makes were wonderful pictures. And the fact that the bride and groom look like they stepped out of a Vanity Fair Magazine was so beyond great!

The reception was held at DC Ranch under a tent. The weather was perfect, the flowers were wonderful, I don't think anyone could have asked for a nicer wedding. There are very few weddings that make me want to do it all over again. To go through the stress of the planning but when I see weddings like this the thoughts start rolling again. :)

This wedding really was just amazing and it was awesome to take pictures of. I think Jennifer had a lot on her plate but she was awesome to work with again. Thanks Jennifer for having me tag along!

Here are a few of my favorites.

The church was stunning!

One of the ring bearers rolled this adorable buggy down the aisle.

The kiss.

This bride is just stunning and so easy to photograph.

Ring shot on the grass

How sexy is this shot- I love it, I think it was my favorite of the day

Wonderful table settings- gorgeous!!!

I layed on the floor to get the top of the tent. It was covered in tulle and a beautiful crystal chandelier hung from the center.

The groom's parents during the toast- so sweet

Beautiful couple during their first dance.

How cool is this cake?

Some fun at the reception- love this shot!!!

2nd shootin' with Ograce

Friday, April 18, 2008

A few weeks ago my good friend Jennifer from Ograce Photography asked me to help shoot one of her weddings. I really love being a 2nd shooter sometimes. You are able to be more creative instead of always having to "get the shot." There is always someone else who is making sure of that. So you get to explore and do things you normally wouldn't do. Sometimes photographers, just like to shoot. It's nice when we don't have to worry about placing people to set up the shot, or marketing our business or editing or whatever else comes along with the territory of owning your own business. Thanks so much Jennifer, Joy and Liz and the whole staff for letting me tag along with you all! I had a great time. :)

Here are a few shots from the wedding I enjoyed.

Some beautiful details...

Isn't his reaction classic? Love it!!!
Mr. and Mrs.
I love these sweet moments between the bride and her father- so sweet! :)

Vanessa and Chris in Sedona- 2nd Shooting

Friday, October 05, 2007

I've been trying to get this up for a couple of weeks but have been pretty busy. A couple of weeks ago I got to shoot with Melissa Jill who I've looked up to for a long time in Sedona at L'Auberge. This was a couple of firsts for me- a first for 2nd shooting, a first with shooting with Melissa and a first shooting up in Sedona. 2nd shooting was new to me, I've had 2nd shooters before to help me but I haven't been on that end before. It was nice not to be in charge for once and look at things from another angle. I also got to play around with my camera and experiment a little more than I would have.
L'Auberge was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't get over at gorgeous it was.
The couple were great too- they were from New York so I already knew I liked them! It happens when you are married to a New Yorker.
We drove up the day before to shoot an Engagement Session for them. The weather was beautiful. And we got some great shots near the Red Rocks.
The day of the wedding came and it poured. Gosh we prayed it would go away but it never did. It just kept coming down. We felt so bad for them. The ceremony and reception was going to be outside and they had to move it indoors. The couple was disappointed but they took it really well and made the best of it.
Thanks so much Melissa for letting me tag along. I had a great time and you taught me a lot!
Here are a couple of my favorite images!
A couple of cute ones from their Engagement SessionI loved this shot of their ringsThe bride showing her personality- she was adorableThe beautiful dress! This was so funny, the groomsmen could not get their top button buttoned. They couldn't stop laughing. Isn't she stunning?

See how adorable she is- so cute!
