Update of Lots of Changes!!!

Friday, August 22, 2008

We have a lot going on over here! We have a lot of changes happening and we've also been able to check off some goals from our 101 goals in 1001 days list!!!!

Here are some of our big announcements!!
1. We also our launching our new website!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've changed things up a bit but are really excited to show off our new look- check it out at HERE and please leave a comment on the blog to let us know what you think. Good feedback only improves us more!!!!!!

2. Check off goal #45!! Hire an employee. We've hired a new employee- 2 to be exact. I am so excited to have these girls with me. Allison and Tracey are my newest assistants and are such a wonderful asset to the company. Both are totally adorable, really sweet, they have great personalities and I just know you all will love them as much as I do! I will be taking pictures of them of course soon and posting them so you know what they look like. You'll see them at your family session as well at the weddings. We are moving to bigger and better things and I'm so happy to have these girls to help me along the way!

3. Check #16- Lose 20 pounds- WHOOHOOOO!!!

I can't believe I haven't posted about this yet. During my Smart for Life Diet I was able to lose about 14-15 pounds and I'm assuming my stressful running around has been the culprit to losing another few for a total of 20. It's amazing how 20 pounds doesn't seem like a lot but it sure is way more than for your clothes to fit anymore. The good thing I can purchase new clothes, the bad news is I'm loosing all my old clothes and I really liked those. :( Oh well-

4. Update on the rest of the goals

Check #17- organized the kids playroom
Check #20- Took a dancing class
Check #27- Redo decor in Master bedroom
Check #37- attend church more often
Check #49- Make date night with Mike once a month (we've actually only missed 1 month since Jan)
Check #58- transferred e-mail to Outlook (thanks to Courtney!)
Check #66- volunteer for a charity- Operation: Love ReUnited!!!
Check #70- learn to eat more veggies ( I did eat more but they are still gross)
Check #62- Get software to manage and organize clients

Currently I have 441 days left to finish 57 goals- I think I am running behind. Which looks like I need to do a goal every 7.7 days until November of 2009. Now some of these I've just been dragging my feet on but some seem a little unattainable. If anyone knows how I can meet Oprah please pass along my info to her. :) Or if anyone has a free plane ticket to New Zealand or Greece, please send it my way. :) That would be such a big help!!

Week #5 weigh in

Monday, May 19, 2008

Well I didn't make my goal this week of losing 5 pounds but I did loose 3 1/2 which I think is pretty darn good. :) Yippie!!!
I have to tell you though this diet is getting harder and harder- I haven't had pasta, a pizza slice, real cheese, a coke, chocolate, cheese cake or ham in almost 6 weeks. I'm getting really bored with what I'm eating. The cookies aren't bad but dinner rolls around and I just so sick of eating chicken. I try to change it up and eat a little turkey or fish but I just need more variety. I did get the clear to go ahead and do some light exercise. On 800 calories a day they want you to be careful because if you eat 800 calories and then burn 800 calories you'd probably be dead after awhile. So I ran on the treadmill yesterday. I hate exercising but I did feel good afterwards.

I think this will be my last week on this diet- as much as I love losing the weight and as much as this diet works, it's just really too expensive for my budget right now. I don't want to say
anything bad about this diet because if you can afford it you need to do it. But until gas prices work their way down again I just can't keep up with the fees.
I will however keep trying to work out more and keep eating better. The good thing about eating 800 calories a day for 6 weeks is your stomach shrinks so you really can't eat as much as you used to. I'm hoping that will help me out in the next few weeks as I transition.
Wish me luck on my final week- I'll have one more weigh in next Monday!

Weight loss this week: 3.5 pounds
Total weight loss:13.6 pounds

Week #4 weigh in

Monday, May 12, 2008

I'm in trouble- yep by the doctor. I went in on Saturday to have my 1st monthly meeting with the doctor on the diet. You are supposed to meet with the doctor once a month. I didn't lose any weight this past week. I was doing really good the first 2 weeks and then kind of fell off.
So she gave me some appetite suppressants to take and tried to motivate me back on. In all honestly I don't think I had done that bad this week although I did cheat 1 day and had a nasty greasy but yummy hamburger and 2 alcohol drinks.
The doctor told me "let me put this into perspective for you, if you have just 1 alcohol drink, that erases 3 days you were just on the diet and that is $24.00 you lost on the diet." So of course that hit me- ouch for my wallet!
And in my defense I did get weighed for my third week on Tuesday and my fourth week on Saturday, so I only had 4 days this week. I was a little early on my weigh in. I go in for my 5th week on Monday morning ( a week from today) so I'll have a few more days under my belt. I'm shooting for 5 pounds, let's see how I do-Wish me luck! :)

Week #3 weigh in

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

Ok this week was a little rough for me-
I cheated twice this week which wasn't good for me, but I also was getting bored. It's hard when you are used to eating Mexican food then Italian then hamburgers- you have a variety. I just haven't had that. I'm so limited on the veggies that I eat and besides chicken and fish, there isn't a lot more lean protein I can eat.
I was able to try the shakes this week- 1 shake will equal 2 cookies so I'm anxious to try it and have something different!
I still lost 2.8 pounds and that is pretty good. My pants are all starting to be baggy on me and I've had to wear a lot of skirts. There is no point in buying new clothes now so I have to deal with it but it's a nice feeling!
I go to see the doctor on Saturday for my next monthly check and they'll be able to check my BMI to see how much lower that got. That should be exciting!!!

Weight loss this week: 2.8 pounds
Total loss:10.1 pounds

2nd week weigh in

Monday, April 28, 2008

I have a confession- I cheated. Friday was my bad day. I didn't set out to do it, it just kind of happened. I actually took out Amina from Some Like it Classic Event Planning to lunch. I thought it would be a little awkward to just eat a cookie. So I ordered hummus. I guess that's better than a pepperoni pizza. And then for dinner we all went to Arribas and I had a red Chile burrito AND a margarita. I know I know. But it felt so good. I even licked the chips. I was a little disappointed in myself but also felt like after 2 full weeks it was nice to have a little bit of a reward. Those burritos are a weakness of mine. :)
So I drove in this morning and lost another 3.8 pounds!!!! I guess it wasn't such a cheat day after all- :)

Weight loss this week: 3.8 pounds
Total: 7.3 pounds

My first weigh in!

Monday, April 21, 2008

So this week has not been easy. Eating 6 cookies a day, then eating 6 ounces of lean protein and 2 servings of veggies- eewww. I've probably eaten more veggies this week than I have in my whole life. Crazy. But I pretty much stuck to the diet and didn't cheat. I did have a few dill pickles, but those are ok. I think the hardest was when Mike made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or slice of pizza. OHHHHH- I just had to make him let me smell it! I never really felt hungry even though I'm only eating 800 calories a day, the hardest part is actually eating the veggies. I know I sound like I'm 2 but they are really grody. :)
So I drove into my weigh in this morning, took off my shoes and stepped on the scale. And I'm down 3.5 pounds. Not too shabby for 1 week. Keep sending prayers this week I can stick to this.

Week 1
Weight loss this week: 3.5 pounds
Total: 3.5 pounds

On my way to cross off #20-Lose 20 pounds

Monday, April 14, 2008

This has been something on my mind for sometime but getting motivated has not been easy. It's always a "I'm too busy," "I don't have enough time" or "I hate eating healthy"- I really do. That is my hardest part. Ever since I can remember I hated Veggies! Yuck. The thought of them grosses me out. Not sure what happened to me. My mom gave them to me when I was little and I never liked them. I've always been a very "plain" eater. Things like potato salad aren't for me- there is too many ingredients for my taste. I love things like a ham and cheese sandwich and if I really want to get wild and crazy I'll throw pickles on it- Believe me, it's so good!
Having Reagan and Hunter hasn't been easy for me to get the weight off from them. But of course not eating veggies doesn't help that situation. And of course when you are out and your kids are eating macaroni and cheese or chicken fingers, sometimes you clear off their plate and that isn't very good either.
I'm sick of not fitting into my clothes- sick of not wearing a bathing suit or having to wear shorts to the beach. I dread getting invited to a pool party.
So since Mike and I will be at the beach later this year and I'll be turning the big 30 later this year, I felt now was a good a time as any.
Yesterday on Sunday I started my Smart for Life Diet- You eat 6 cookies during the day and then a healthy dinner with lean protein and grody veggies. This part is a little hard for me. You are basically eating 800 calories a day. Very tough when I'm sure some of my lunches alone have been 800 calories.
My big goal is to lose 40 pounds but even if I lost 20 I'd still be happy. My dad started the diet about 7 weeks ago and he is down about 30 pounds. Awesome huh?
So although I won't tell you exactly what I weigh, I will tell you each week how much weight I've lost. You go to "weigh in" every week and then see your doctor once a month. My first "weigh in" is a week from today- so keep sending good vibes towards me this way and pray I can keep up with those veggies- ewwww. By the way if I do eat them I'll be able to check off another goal-#70 Learn to eat more veggies.
